Is it possible for moderators (or admins) to approve answers of any question?

Very often, users don't have the diligence to mark a good answer as approved which diminishes the value of this feature.

So is it possible for moderators (or admins) to use their privileges to approve answers?

Thanks for the answer, but can you provide more details? I'm currently a moderator in our platform and I do not see this ability. Does it have to be enabled in the configuration?
